How To: Create a New Page

(this tutorial page is not animated)
OceanMedia.net Log in to your site so that you see [edit this page] at the top of pages on your web site. If you don't have a link to "sign in" or "admin menu" go to yourDomainName.com/sign_in.asp
OceanMedia.net Go to a page on your site that is in the same general area where you want to add another page. Click [edit this page].
OceanMedia.net Now click OceanMedia.netShow pages. You should now see a list of pages in the current area of your site. They are sorted by "date last modified" with newest being on top.
OceanMedia.net Click OceanMedia.netCreate a New Page.
OceanMedia.net Fill in the top 3 lines: (1) Title is what will show at the top of your page
if you check the (2) "Title visible at top of page" and I recommend you do this
so as to stay consistent with the rest of the site. Finally, (3) "File on
server" needs to have no spaces or other strange characters. Definitely no quotes, apostrophes, tildes, ampersands, slashes, backslashes. If you go back
to "show pages" you can see how we name web page files. Being consistent with naming is a good idea.
OceanMedia.net Click the SAVE button near the top of this form. You will be taken back to the "Show Pages" screen.
OceanMedia.net Look for your new page in this list. It should be at or near the top.
Click the OceanMedia.netManage Content button to the far left of the row representing your new page.
OceanMedia.net You are now on the "Manage Content" screen. Click the OceanMedia.netAdd Text/Images/Links button.
OceanMedia.net You are now on the EDIT CONTENT screen. If you are using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Netscape you will see a bunch of buttons (two rows) much like Microsoft Word. Underneath the buttons is a big empty area. Click in that empty area so your cursor is there now. Note: This tool works best in Internet Explorer and not at all in Safari.
OceanMedia.net Hit ENTER on your keyboard once just to create a bit of space. You'll
see why later this space helps. Now go ahead and put in whatever content you
want. Click SAVE and you are done!

Congratulations! You have now used HotKey to create a web page.
